We have a very exciting meeting coming up (we’ll share more soon 👀) and we’ve been asked to share more about why our customers love Not Basics — what makes you choose us, what keeps you coming back, and who you are.

Behind the scenes at Not Basics this week...


Whilst I'm here, I thought I'd share a little glimpse into this week as it was very Not Basic. So we started the week with a last-minute shoot cancellation when our samples didn’t arrive in time. I am off on holiday next week, so this felt like the end of the world at the time (not to be dramatic) but thankfully we were able to reschedule and shot everything yesterday. Crisis averted!


We also had a BIG call this week — something we’ve been working towards for years might finally be happening. Send us all your good vibes. (And yes, in classic us fashion, we showed up wearing identical hairstyles — unintentionally matching for all the big moments, as always 😂.)


Lastly, we’ve welcomed a new team member! This means Lauren — who many of you will know if you’ve ever emailed us — will be moving from customer experience into a new department. We’re so excited for what’s next.


Thank you for being such a key part of this journey. Every comment, suggestion, and bit of encouragement helps us shape Not Basics into a brand that actually means something — to us, and hopefully to you too. We wouldn’t be here without you.

I have become more aware of the need to invest and wear sustainable clothing and your ethical stance is what we need. I want to get away from plastics as they are destructive to the environment. I have bought only one item so far but it is lovely and gives me confidence and I’m really interested in buying more from you. TBH I would love to replace most of my wardrobe with your clothes. I would be happy to make the total switch and buy from you.

I am a first time buyer from Not Basics. I was looking for quality bodysuits in plus sizes that were from a brand that’s trying to do better in a fast fashion world. I’m happy with what I found and will be back for more.

I’m 50 years old and really enjoy fashion. But don’t love the idea of destroying the earth. Socioeconomically, I’m middle class so I don’t have all the money in the world for clothing. I try to straddle getting good basics and having some fun statement pieces when I do make purchases.

I cannot say enough good things about Not Basics, and the comfort and quality of ALL of their items!

Over the years, I’ve been trying to be more intentional with what I wear, choosing pieces that actually feel good, last, and fit into my everyday life. That’s what made me choose Not Basics. I’ve purchased a bunch of the bras and underwear from their brand, and they seriously don’t compare to anything else I’ve tried in terms of comfort and quality. They’re made from cotton, which is so much more breathable and gentle on my skin. As women, it’s so important to understand what materials we’re putting on our skin, especially down there…

Not only are Amanda and Katie creating high-quality, comfortable pieces that I love wearing every day, but they are also deeply committed to using more sustainable materials and ethical practices, which is so so important. They really care about the bigger picture and it’s refreshing to see the level of transparency they give to their customers.

Not basics is absolutely my go to! I love how comfortable I feel in my sets and feel happy knowing my skin can breathe. I love how Not basics involves their customers every step of the way, a wonderful company who I will continue to buy from as I’m obsessed with everything they make :)

I discovered Not Basics through Instagram when they were Pantee. I instantly fell in love with them and can’t stop buying good quality clothing. I have 30+ tops and bodysuits in my wardrobe. 90% of the time I will not wear any other top than these.

I am definitely more conscious about the materials I wear and will avoid polyester where possible as I occasionally suffer from acne on my back. My acne has improved massively since switching to Not Basics.

I wear them wherever I go – to the office, in the garden, holidays.

I am 5’8” and many other bodysuits have been too short for me but I have no complaints with these.

Highly recommend! I rave about my double lined, 95% organic cotton tops to everyone I know, many of which are also starting to phase out the polyester.
